"On this day in history" is a popular catch phrase. Cadets, the Social Studies department challenges you to discover what was happening in history 500 years ago, 200 years ago, 100 years ago, and 50 years ago. Each day, make that challenge a part of your daily routine. Share your findings with your Social Studies teacher.
One last thought: how many years must pass before an event is considered "history"?

While online learning can be intimidating at first, it is an opportunity for students to become creative problem solvers. Through this process students are learning how to learn. They are working to make sense of problems and using ingenuity and creativity to solve them. Students are looking at information in new ways and processing it through reading texts, watching videos, and writing. Did you know that in Schoology your student can add an audio or video component to just about any assignment, discussion, or message? Check out this document to see how. Please know that we are here to help you navigate this new learning environment. Contact your math teacher or math specialist, Leslie Byrd (leslie.byrd@fcps.org) for support.

DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS!
The Frederick High School PTSA is raising funds to prepare for the distribution of scholarships to deserving seniors. Students are invited to apply and are selected by the FHS counseling team.
Scholarships are awarded to students who have significantly contributed to the FHS community and show a commitment to not only further their education but also continue to serve their community.
FHS PTSA will be refocusing the Care4Kids campaign to realign with its original mission - providing assistance with personal care and hygiene items that are not covered by food stamps/SNAP/WIC. These necessary items are expensive and many students and families seek assistance for them through their school's counseling office.
If you would like to donate to our campaign, PERSONAL CARE and HYGIENE and BABY ITEMS are still in high demand. Gift cards in small dollar amounts are also accepted.
Our two drop off sites remain the same. Please label Care4Kids and leave your donation on the porch:
115 Kline Blvd - Kettlestrings 2408 Hunters Chase Court - Osborne For questions please contact Patti Kettlestrings - jpkstrings@comcast.net
We are so grateful for your generosity and support. We received approximately 350 requests these past few weeks! Rest assured that any remaining food donations that trickle in will continue to be distributed until they are gone.
