The FCPS Vanguard Teacher Program is a 3-year, competency-based, teacher-leadership program. Vanguards will teach, lead, and coach others to create a blended-learning environment in the classroom, while building capacity within schools and across the district.

What do I have to do as a Vanguard Teacher? -Attend the Vanguard Summer Academy in June 2020 -Attend all face-to-face (2 days with substitutes and 2 meetings after school) and online Professional Learning sessions -Earn all 4 micro-credentials to move to the next level on the Vanguard program -Share your learning and experience with others in your curriculum area, at your school, and across the district
What do I get for being a Vanguard Teacher? -Professional Benefits
-Opportunity to apply for scholarship to attend a professional learning conference -Opportunity to earn up to 9 graduate credits from Hood College -Opportunity to earn up to 10 MSDE credits
Timeline All applicants will be notified of their application status in January 2020.
The Vanguard program will begin in March 2020 with a welcome event leading into the Summer Academy in June 2020
