Four FCPS counselors are among 18 of their peers in Maryland being recognized by the Maryland School Counselor Association.
Kathleen Klecan, of Brunswick Elementary, is being honored by MSCA for implementing a nationally recognized model-school counseling program. Brunswick Elementary is the only school in Maryland to receive this recognition.
The MSCA has selected Ryan Defibaugh, of Walkersville High, as a semi-finalist for Maryland High School Counselor of the Year; Jillian Farrell, of Urbana Middle, as a semi-finalist for Maryland Middle School Counselor of the Year; and Chris Tressler, of Wolfsville Elementary, as a semi-finalist for Maryland Elementary School Counselor of the Year.
All of those being honored are invited to a first-ever, virtual gala Friday, March 19, hosted by the Maryland School Counselor Association.
