As Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) makes the transition into the summer, we also move into our summer operating schedule.
Four Day Week: Beginning Monday, June 13, FCPS will transition to a four-day workweek schedule. We will return to our customary five-day workweek on Monday, August 8.
Fourth of July: All FCPS offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Transition Weeks to Prepare for 2022-23: Two weeks this summer (June 13-17 and July 25-29) are designated for school staff to focus on preparing for summer programs and the start of the 2022-23 school year. During these two weeks, limited appointment opportunities will be available, but families may contact staff via email with responses provided within two business days.
Support for families: Schools will be hosting a variety of summer programs. School offices will be open to support these programs and meet with families Mondays through Thursdays. Schools will be sending a community message sharing their open office hours. Families can make in-person or virtual appointments with school staff. If your student is transitioning to a new school, be sure to sign up for that school’s FindOutFirst messages. If you need support, please reach out directly to schools or central staff.
We hope everyone has a safe and restful summer.
