Good Afternoon Eagles,
As we make our way through the third week of the new hybrid instructional model, I wanted to share how proud I am of our students, staff, and community members. The transition to this new model has been a tremendous undertaking which would not have been possible without everyone’s patience, flexibility, and feedback. We will continue to learn, reflect, and adapt as we progress through the upcoming weeks and months. Your feedback throughout this process has been and will continue to be invaluable with helping ensure that we are providing all of our students with the best educational experience possible.
Over the past three weeks, we have been tracking the arrival of our buses in both the mornings and the afternoons. Based on our observations, and to ensure that we are maximizing our time together, we will be delaying our opening time by 12 minutes. This means that the official OMS school day will begin at 8:12AM and end at 3:12PM. This change will take effect on Monday, March 8, 2021. Below is an overview of important times based on this change:
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this change may cause. However, I want to make sure that we are able to spend as much time as possible with our students in an already condensed schedule. The change of our start time DOES NOT impact the bus stop times for our students. Students who walk or are dropped off will now be able to access the building at 7:42AM as opposed to 7:30AM. OMS staff will be sharing the updated bell schedule with our students throughout the rest of this week. You can access the updated OMS Hybrid Schedule by clicking HERE.
Again, I want to thank you for your continued support, patience, and flexibility. I am hopeful that this change will ensure that all of our students have as much time as possible with their teachers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any OMS administrator or your child’s school counselor with questions. We have been and we will continue to be #OMSBetterTogether!
Sincerely, Daniel L. Enck
Principal
