Dear OMS Families,
After 33 years with FCPS, I am retiring as of July 1, 2020. I joined Frederick County in 1987 as a science teacher and have had an amazing journey serving multiple communities. I want to thank each and every community I have had the privilege to serve. The teachers and central office leaders at FCPS are dedicated, caring and inspirational. The communities work together in the best interest of children. I will cherish my time with FCPS. My last four years have been joyful as I spent time with this amazing Oakdale Community. Oakdale Proud; Oakdale Strong are not just slogans but a way of life here. I wish I could have had a more personal goodbye for our OMS students, staff and community.
I am so very pleased to inform you that Mr. Daniel Enck will be the principal at Oakdale Middle next year. Mr. Enck, who is currently the principal at Thurmont Middle, is a veteran middle school educator who has a passion for being in the middle. He is knowledgeable, personable, approachable and incredibly capable. I know all of you will give him a very warm Oakdale welcome. In addition to this, Ms. Brenda Whipp, AP, is moving on to serve the Middletown Middle community. MS. Brianna Zeoli, currently an AP at West Frederick Middle, will be joining OMS, and Mr. Lee Hand is staying at OMS. Ms. Zeoli is also a veteran Assistant Principal who will bring her own experiences to this winning team.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the many successful years at FCPS and my cherished last experience at Oakdale Middle. I wish all my OMS students much joy, peace and harmony as they pursue their goals of becoming outstanding leaders. I thank the parents for truly being partners in their child’s education, and for being welcoming and inclusive. I thank the staff at OMS for being such dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable educators who will continue this legacy of OMS Proud.
With gratitude and fondest regards,
