Greetings Eagle Families,
OMS staff has been working incredibly hard over the past week to make sure that tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17 is a GREAT first day of the 22-23 school year. Below are some final reminders and information that may be helpful for you and your family:
Bus Information: Families can review bus information by clicking on the following link: https://www.fcps.org/transportation/bus-stop-information-online
Car Rider Information: If you plan to drop off or pick up your child, please review the message, maps, and video that were included in the August edition of the Community SOAR Report (see below).
Chromebooks: Chromebooks will be distributed to students during their social studies class. All necessary paperwork/forms will be shared with students and families in the coming days. We will distribute Chromebooks using the following schedule:
August 22 - 8th Grade
August 23 - 7th Grade
August 24 - 6th Grade
Community SOAR Report: Last Friday, the August edition of the Community SOAR Report was sent out to our community members through Find Out First. The Community SOAR Report contains important school information and will be a vital resource for our parents/guardians as we progress through the school year. You can access the August Community SOAR Report using the following link OR by accessing the link on the OMS school website:

Deliveries: Parents/Guardians are welcome to drop off school materials, lunches, or other items throughout the school day. However, in an effort to maximize instructional time and decrease classroom disruptions, these items will only be delivered to students during their lunch shift or at the very end of the school day.
Eagle Time/Home Base: We will be running a one hour delay schedule this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to provide student time with their “Eagle Time/Home Base” teacher. After students are dismissed from their morning holding areas (6th/7th grade gym and 8th grade cafeteria), all students will report to their “Eagle Time/Home Base” teacher for the start of the day. Students will remain in this location until 9:12 at which time they will transition to their first period class.
Hall Passes: New for the 22-23 school year, all OMS students will be given a hall pass that they will use anytime they need to leave a classroom. The pass is printed on a piece of cardstock paper and students are responsible for making sure they keep it in a safe place and bring it with them every day.
We are all incredibly excited for tomorrow and are looking forward to an amazing school year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need anything. Thanks for your continued support!
