Welcome Back CTC!
It was great to welcome students back today. We like to see every student in school every day - we have important work to do and we need you here to do it. Our teachers are excited to engage you, challenge you, and support to achieve high levels of success.
It was great to see so many of you at Back to School Night - it is going to be an awesome year and your enthusiasm will help make it so.
Just a few items to be mindful of as we start the new school year:
It is our expectation that all students are on time and in class.
CTC morning classes start promptly at 8:00 AM. Buses arrive at CTC beginning at 7:45 AM. At that time, all students are permitted to go to their classrooms. If you are a driver, please make sure you are here and in the classroom by 7:55 AM. Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 AM.
CTC afternoon classes start promptly at 11:30 AM. Buses arrive beginning at 11:15 AM. At that time, all students are permitted to go to their classrooms. If you are a driver, please make sure you are here and in the classroom by 11:25 AM. Instruction begins promptly at 11:30 AM.
Student Pick-Up for morning and afternoon sessions: If you are picking up your student, please park in the Visitor parking area or Student parking lot and avoid the bus lanes in the front of the building.
Our morning dismissal begins at 10:05 AM
Our afternoon dismissal begins at 1:40 PM
Student Drivers: Students must purchase a permit ($15) in order to park on the CTC campus. We will begin ticketing unauthorized vehicles on campus later this month after all permits have been distributed. Because of our limited parking spaces, our students are granted driving privileges based on need, with first priority being our 7:15 English students and Work Study students, followed by our all-day students and students who have outside jobs immediately after school. Students are not permitted to go to their vehicles during the school day without administrative approval. Please make sure you bring anything you need in from your car when you arrive at school. We remind our students to practice safe driving practices coming in and out of campus. Please be considerate and careful at all times.
After-School Activities: Any student not engaged in an after-school activity should not remain in the building past 1:50 pm. Students who do stay after school should be under the direct supervision of a staff member.
First Day Paperwork: Parents are reminded to look for all first day paperwork coming home today. Important forms and necessary information need to be completed and returned to school.
Please stay tuned for important information that will be shared via Find Out First throughout the year. The success of our students depends on the partnership between parents/guardians and the school and good communication is integral to that. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
We are looking forward to a great year at CTC.
