Dear Middletown High School & Middle School Community-
I wanted to share with you an unfortunate and inappropriate event that took place last night at Middletown High School. Yesterday evening during the MiMS Concert at MHS, MHS administrators were alerted that a racist message was found in one of our restrooms outside the cafeteria.
This form of hate speech, any form of hate speech, is not indicative of the values of Middletown High or Frederick County Public Schools and will absolutely not be tolerated. Students found creating symbols such as these, designed to spread hate, will face consequences per the FCPS Student Code of Conduct.
Once the hate speech was found, staff immediately removed it from the restroom and administrators began an investigation. MHS staff also alerted our School Resource Officer who is working with administrators to investigate and press any necessary charges.
Again, I must emphasize that any form of hate speech or symbols is unacceptable and will not be tolerated as they are not representative of who we are and what we believe as Knights and a school system.
Thank you, Bernie Quesada Principal, Middletown High School
