Middletown High Evacuation-May 12
The Middletown High School administration would like to thank all staff, students, and parents for their cooperation during today's unplanned evacuation. At approximately 12:50 PM, the school experienced a power outage. Once it was determined that the power would not promptly return, all individuals were evacuated from the building. Staff followed the established stadium evacuation protocol. Student drivers and walkers were permitted to leave at 1:30 PM. Bus riders and car riders remained in the stadium until buses or parents/guardians arrived.
We anticipate that the power will be restored later this afternoon and students will return to school on time tomorrow.
All athletic contests and the MHS Horticulture Plant Sale will continue as scheduled.
The status of tonight's concert is TBD. A message will be sent out by 5:30 PM with concert updates.
Students who were scheduled to take the math MCAP assessments will report to their assigned testing rooms tomorrow. Arrangements will be made to make-up the sessions from today.
