Dear CMES Families:
FCPS leaders, along with CMES administrators and staff, are aware that an email account titled CMES Concerned is circulating allegations about a CMES employee’s behavior in a classroom. FCPS takes such concerns seriously, and we are taking appropriate steps to investigate. All reporting protocols have been followed. We are not able to share details during an ongoing investigation and can never share details related to personnel concerns.
While the matter is under investigation, the employee about whom the allegation was made is not present at CMES or any other Frederick County public school.
As always, we encourage and appreciate when matters are brought to our attention in a timely manner so we can address them directly. We also appreciate when such matters are not generated on social media and reposted, as this can sometimes compromise the efficiency and integrity of the investigation and possibly the privacy rights of both students and staff. Timeliness in reporting such concerns is critical. If there is firsthand information anyone wishes to share with those conducting the investigation, please contact the FCPS Office of System Accountability and School Administration (301-696-6818). Although families may like more information, this message is all that can be shared on the matter at this time.
The staff at CMES remain committed to a positive start to the new school year and all of the positive experiences that we know will take place. Working together, we will make this a great school year.
