Avoid, Deny and Defend (ADD) Drill Today
Dear BHS Parents/Guardians,
As part of Brunswick High School’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy learning environment, students and staff participated in an Active Assailant Drill today, September 23. Our students and staff were responsive and took this drill seriously. I would like to commend all involved for completing this important exercise effectively.
This activity was not based on any recent threats or concerns. The purpose of the drill was to ensure students and staff give thought to how they would respond in an Active Assailant Emergency. Minimal disruption occurred to our schedule, and learning was resumed by 9:05am
As we debrief and evaluate our efforts today we will implement additional measures if appropriate to improve our school emergency response protocol. Should you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact your student’s teacher, counselor, or an administrator. As always, our first priority is fostering a safe learning environment for our students and staff.
Sincerely,
Christopher Berry, Principal
