Interested in Being a Class Officer for the 2019-2020 School Year?
Thank you for showing interest in being a class officer for next school year. This document explains the application and election process to serve as a class officer.
Eligibility:
Be a member of the class that you plan on serving as an officer for.
Be academically eligible.
Be willing to take on the responsibilities and commitments of serving as a class officer.
Senior class only: To serve as a class officer, a student must demonstrate participation in at least two school sponsored groups/activities/clubs.
Seniors: One teacher recommendation must come from the adviser or coach of the group/activity/club you were a participant of.
Positions:
Seniors and Juniors: There will be five officer positions. Your position will be based on the number of votes you receive.
President: Receives the most votes
Vice President: Receives the second most votes
Officers: The third, fourth, and fifth individuals will serve in a general ‘officer’ position, with specific tasks and responsibilities to be identified at a later time.
Sophomores: The top individuals receiving votes will earn officer positions. The position held will be based on the number of votes received.
Class President: Receives the most votes
Chair of the Fundraiser Committee: Second most votes
Chair of the Activities Committee: Third most votes
Assistant Chair of the Fundraiser Committee: Fourth most votes
Assistant Chair of the Activities Committee: Fifth most votes
Submission Process:
Complete and submit the Class Officer Intention form via the following link: https://forms.gle/6mpBFmFz9G5c2Yg17. This form must be completed by 2:30 pm on Monday, June 10th.
You must have at least two teachers fill out the Class Officer Teacher Recommendation form via the following link: https://forms.gle/Hu5kHgyHgWk9PSB77. Teachers will have until 2:30 pm on Monday, June 10th to complete the form.
Election Process:
Candidates will have a mandatory meeting during Flex on Tuesday, June 11th to discuss the process and answer questions. This meeting will be in A225 and you will have a request from Mr. Zitrick
Elections will be carried out electronically on Wednesday, June 12th to Friday, June 14th.
Elections will take place in the Media Center during Chromebook collection.
Every member of your class may vote once in the election for your class only.
Irregular votes will be eliminated.
Formal campaigning will not take place. Instead, your information you submit in the Class Officer Intention Form will be put on the ballot. Students voting will be able to see your answers to the information in the Intention form and base their decision on that material. Individual posters will not be allowed to be hung.
