Cadet Families:
We made it! As we close the chapter on the 2019 school year I’d like to thank everyone for a great year at Frederick High School. Three weeks ago, our seniors walked across the stage to receive their diplomas and begin the next chapter of their lives. Seeing the look of hope and excitement in their eyes as they received their diplomas, I can tell you our future looks very bright!
This past month, FHS students have been working hard on ending the school year strong. Students continue to attend LYNX experiences that explore future college and career options as well as meet with our wonderful group of business partners from the Frederick community to make connections that will be the first steps towards internships and other future career opportunities. Last Friday I had the pleasure of meeting the class of 2023 at our move up day. It was great to see the look of excitement on their faces as they learned about all the opportunities that are available to them at FHS. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all our LYNX students.
Beginning on June 24, FHS will be operating on summer hours. The office will be open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 AM-5 PM, except for the week of the 4th of July when we will be open regular hours. We will have 2 special sessions for anyone that is interested in registering for a CDM (Credit by Demonstrated Mastery) credit in the fall on Thursday, June 27 and Thursday, July 30 between 9 AM-10 AM. Counselors and staff will be on hand to answer any questions about CDM and to register students who wish to seek a credit by doing an outside experience (such as earning a Fitness credit through Marching Band or an FCPS fall sport). If you have any questions about CDM please do not hesitate to contact our student services team at 240-236-7000. You can also download the application from the FHS homepage: https://education.fcps.org/fhs/
