The Enhance Our Environment initiative of the Chi Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be hosting an Electronic Recycling Day event. The event is free and open to the public. The event will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Urbana Regional Library from 2:30pm - 4:30pm in the Anthony M. Natelli Community Room located on the bottom floor.
The purpose of the event is to allow the community to safely discard their electronic devices. Properly recycling electronics conserves natural resources, ensures appropriate handling of toxic materials, provides a more sustainable source of precious metals, and protects human health and the environment. Accepted items include: Calculators, Digital Cameras, Gaming Consoles, Keyboards, Remote controls, Computer Monitors (up to 18 inch), iPads, Laptops, Printers (less than 20 pounds), Scanners (less than 20 pounds), DVD and VCR Recorders, Cell Phones, Telephones, Power Supply Cords, PDAs, Tape Recorders, Mice, External Disk Drives, Computer Speakers, and Modems. Note: No TVs, Desktops, or Appliances. Only 4 electronic items are accepted per person. Please ensure you properly clear all data and files from your hard drive. A waiver form is required from individuals relinquishing all ownership rights and disposal of an electronic device.
