The FCPS COVID-19 Return to Play (RTP) Committee is working hard to prepare our students and student-athletes for a safe return to summer conditioning and re-acclimatization activities.
The committee has set a target return date of Monday, July 13, 2020. As FCPS is taking all necessary precautionary measures for a safe return and will err on the side of caution, this date may change.
As recommended by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA), all students who wish to participate in summer athletic activities will be required to have an updated Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (sports physical).
Incoming freshmen, students new to FCPS, and students who did not participate in a sport last school year must provide documentation of a sports physical dated April 1, 2020 or after.
Returning student-athletes may use documentation of a sports physical from this past school year (April 1, 2019 or after) or preferably provide one for the upcoming school year (April 1, 2020 or after).
*All students will be required to have a sports physical dated April 1, 2020 or after to participate in 2020-2021 fall, winter and spring sports. Fall sports are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

The RTP Committee, in collaboration with our medical community and the Frederick County Health Department, will continue to work hard on developing plans for students' safe return to sports and extracurricular activities, and FCPS will provide updates as needed.
