Friday, March 13, 2020 FCPS Community:
Our last student has departed for the 2-week school shutdown, and we want you to know how truly thankful we are to have an opportunity to serve the families of such a caring community. We will miss our students and staff while we are all challenged to make personal sacrifices as our nation battles the unwelcome intruder known as the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
We must join together as a determined community, depending on one another to each do our part in defeating the spread of this virus so our students can return to their classrooms and continue to achieve their goals to become college and career ready.
Understanding that the abrupt closing of schools has left our community with many questions, we have prepared answers to a list of Frequently Asked Questions. We will update the list to reflect new information as it becomes available. Please visit www.fcps.org/update/faq, and also visit www.fcps.org/update during the coming weeks for updates and important news.
Included online are details about meals we are serving in eight schools. We will add several community-based locations in additional areas of the county for bagged lunch pickups starting Wednesday, March 18. Please watch for details.
We wish you a healthy and safe weekend and time away, remembering that children are counting on each of us to do our part in this important effort to return to normalcy.
