Results are in from the May 2017 FindOutFirst (FOF) Satisfaction Survey.
Thank you to the 4,262 respondents! 3,779 of respondents (89%) rated overall satisfaction with FOF communication a 4 or 5, on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is not satisfied and 5 is extremely satisfied. [2,342 rated satisfaction a 5. 1,437 rated it 4. 368 rated it 3. 74 rated it 2. 41 rated it 1]. 3,333 of respondents (78%) told us that FOF is always or almost always the first way they learn that schools are unexpectedly opening late, closing early or closed for the day. [1,686 answered "always." 1,647 answered "almost always." 618 answered "sometimes." 278 answered "rarely." 33 answered "I'm not sure."]
3,328 of respondents (78%) told us that FOF is always or almost always the first way they learn about regular school news. [1,077 answered "always." 2,251 answered "almost always." 813 answered "sometimes." 98 answered "rarely." 23 answered I'm not sure."]
Comments provided were extremely helpful. They tell us that the community prefers that FCPS continues using multiple means of communication, particularly in emergencies. While FOF email and phone text messages are popular, people also use Facebook and Twitter to get our news. Some watch FCPS TV online or on Comcast cable 18. Many find details on www.fcps.org. Employees appreciate the internal communication channels FCPS maintains.
Comments also let us know that many subscribers would like FOF to automatically upload schools and grade levels of interest; this is a feature we will explore using. Some people don't like using passwords but recognize these are necessary to keep personal data secure. A few people want clearer instructions on how to change their FOF preferences or unsubscribe, a concern we typically see when people register more than one account but only update (or unsubscribe from) one. Some people expressed a desire to receive more than emergency news by text, another feature we will explore.
