FCPS and the Frederick County Bar Association will be sponsoring a Civics & Law Academy on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Frederick High School. This program is open to high school students, with priority registration for students in Frederick County.

A variety of sessions will be offered including: Privacy and the Internet, Criminal Procedure, Protections and Limits of Speech, Careers in the Legal Field, as well as mock trial sessions addressing developing effective opening and closing statements, the art of cross examination and developing effective direct examination. Sessions will be led by professionals in the legal field.

There is no cost for this program; light morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Space is limited; registration will close once all spaces have been filled.
