Events, information to keep you informed, and school highlights
Attention students who are scheduled to take the SAT on Saturday, 1/23: If a snow emergency plan is in effect for Frederick County, the SAT will be canceled and will be rescheduled. Students should check FCPS social media for updates: http://www.fcps.org/ or http://www.collegeboard.org For families and students who are scheduled to participate in activities and events at FCPS facilities over the weekend, please keep in mind that if the Frederick County Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, all FPCS facilities will be closed and activities will be canceled or postponed. Snow emergency plan information is announced on local radio stations and posted at: http://www.chart.state.md.us/StormInfo/snow_emergency_plans.asp Thank you to the MHS PTSA for contributing $500 towards school beautification! We hope to use these funds to purchase new vegetation to replace the two dogwoods being removed from the front.
2nd Semester Schedules: During 2nd block on January 20, students were reminded that they can access their 2nd semester schedules by logging into HAC. Passwords were made available by teachers for students who needed them. January 25 - Second semester and term 3 begin.
Date Change - Boys' Soccer State Championship Banner will be unveiled at halftime of the girls’ basketball game on January 28. Every day there are great things happening at Middletown High School! To nominate a staff member who has made a difference for you or your student, please take a moment to fill out the Staff Member of the Month form. Middletown High School's TBA Improv presents its January show "Game Day" on Friday, January 29 @ 7 p.m. in Room 403. All are invited to come out and enjoy the show! High School All-County Music Festival - Saturday, Jan. 30 (snow Date - Feb. 1) @ 7 p.m. at Governor Thomas Johnson High School. Come see musical talent from across the county including students from MHS! Middletown High School Registration Night (2016-17) for rising 9th graders and upperclassmen. Tuesday, February 2 @ 6:00 p.m.
MHS Guidance counselor Paula Langley spoke at the last PTSA meeting about scheduling classes for next year as well as the importance of extracurricular activities and volunteering.
View the presentation here: Preparing for the future - Resume Building Schedule Changes: Students may get a form from the counseling office before school, after school, or during lunch. Students must make an appointment with their counselor in the first five days of the new semester to make any changes. Forms must be signed by a parent before students will be permitted to make an appointment.

MHS is providing students with STEM and Career experiences during Club Days throughout the year. STEM Presenters are needed by the following departments for these dates: Jan. 8 - Math; Feb. 5 - English; March 4 - Social Studies; April 1 - Visual and Performing Arts / Phys Ed; May 13 - World Languages.
