On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, BHS will offer the SAT to all 11th grade students. This includes all 11th grade RVP, CTC, JROTC, AFA and other non-traditional students. The exam will be offered during the school day and is free-of-charge to all students.
Please be aware that the SAT is now digital, meaning the exam will be offered online. This format brings several changes to the exam. Most importantly, the exam will now be 'adaptive.' During an adaptive exam the difficulty of the questions given to students will increase or decrease based on the students' responses. According to the College Board, this change will result in a more accurate and shorter exam. College Board estimates that this will result in a 2 ½ hour exam featuring approximately 100 questions divided amongst 3 sections - 1 reading, 2 math.
All 11th grade students are automatically enrolled in the exam. However, prior to the exam, it is necessary that all students take the following steps:
In the weeks and days prior to the exam, additional messages will be provided to students and families.
If you have additional questions, please contact Laurie Atwell (laurie.atwell@fcps.org). Otherwise, we look forward to working with you to offer this opportunity.
