Vol. 27: 4.12.24
Greetings, FCCS Families, This week, FCPS Food & Nutrition Services increased the number of options in our cafeteria from 3 to 5. Every day, students may now choose between a hot entree, pizza, deli sandwich, WOW Butter, or salad. After students order their meals during Homeroom, the front office staff calls the order into a high school. Lunches are delivered shortly before our first lunch shift. This week, we’ve had many students order one thing and take something else (usually pizza). Unfortunately, once a meal has been taken by a student, staff is not allowed to take it back. This has caused a shortage for students in later lunch shifts who have not had the meal they ordered available for them. We are working to eliminate the kinks in the system. But please partner with us, and reiterate with your scholars that they must take ONLY what they ordered each day to ensure that those who come to the cafeteria later receive the order they placed. Also, an important reminder for all families: please be mindful of arrival and dismissal times. We have many students who are habitually late - either at arrival or dismissal. We understand that traffic and other things can occasionally happen, but regular tardiness for arrival or pick up is different. Our school day begins at 8:30 a.m. Students should be dropped off before that time. Our school day ends at 3:15 p.m. Carline ends at 3:45 p.m. when our staff’s day ends. Many staff members have other commitments which do not allow them to stay later. Please adjust your schedule to drop off and pick up your scholars on time. We are hurtling rapidly to the end of the year, and we have many activities planned. Please look through the calendar so you don’t miss any of these wonderful opportunities to see our scholars shine! Warmly, Mr. Conroy and Mr. Kenny
